Alycia McGinley Trainer

Alycia Alves

Owner, Member Services Coordinator and Trainer

Alycia is a Level 1 certified CrossFit Trainer USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach with an additional certification in CrossFit Movement and Mobility. After starting CrossFit in 2008, she immediately noticed improvements to her energy level, strength, speed, endurance, and body composition. Her favorite part of CrossFit is “its ability to give people confidence in themselves, no matter their age, size, or ability. I love being able to share victories with members of the gym, and to see how the camaraderie and sense of accomplishment carries over into their personal and professional lives.”

Alycia’s role at the gym is to cultivate a group of healthy and happy athletes who enjoy coming to work out. In addition to Member Services, Alycia offers mobility, fitness and nutrition advice to members.

Justin McGinley Trainer

Justin McGinley

Owner and Head Trainer

Justin is a Level 1 certified CrossFit Trainer and USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach with additional certifications in CrossFit Basic Barbell and CrossFit Movement and Mobilty. He loves the simplicity and effectiveness of the program. “We take useful movements, heavy weights, sprints, body weight circuits and Olympic lifting, constantly vary the weights, the reps, the length of workouts, and the movements, and we do them as hard as we can.” He feels the best way to improve someone’s overall fitness is to practice their weaknesses, and encourages clients to “make their weaknesses their strengths.”

Justin is CrossFit Aspire’s nutrition consultant. He can (and will) talk about food all day long. Justin enjoys working with people to improve their diets in a way that is enjoyable, easy, sustainable and effective.

Chris Edwards Trainer

Chris Edwards


Chris is a certified Level 1 CrossFit Trainer. A lifelong athlete, he was always looking for new ways to challenge himself. He started CrossFit in 2011 and was immediately hooked. While in working as a personal trainer many years ago, Chris realized that he loved helping others reach their potential and personal goals. Chris was a Physical Training and Combatives NCO in the Army and could be found spending countless hours of his free time training friends and colleagues. The best part of CrossFit is that everyone can do it and get better at it if they keep trying. “I love that moment when someone finally ‘gets it’ and succeeds. It takes a lot of persistence to get something right; and you never know until you try” Bruce Lee said it best, There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them’.” Chris is extremely motivating and uses his eye for detail to help athletes reach their next level.

Melissa Love Trainer

Melissa Love


Melissa is a Level 1 certified CrossFit trainer. After hearing a couple friends talk about CrossFit, she contacted Alycia and signed up for her first class. Once the WOD was done and she was laying on the floor trying to catch her breath (with Justin eating out of a bowl over her saying “so, his is what we do”), she knew she was signing up and coming back. She was hooked. Melissa is looking forward to giving people the ability to get whatever they want out of CrossFit. She will tell you “CrossFit has changed my life and I’m hoping through coaching I can help others to get that change as well.”

Beth Walker Trainer

Beth Walker


Beth is a Level 1 certified CrossFit Trainer. A former competitive swimmer, Beth spent years trying to motivate herself to work out and spent many hours in aerobics classes and on the treadmill. It wasn’t until starting CrossFit in 2008 that she discovered something that would motivate her to get to the gym four days a week. “I love the camaraderie, the competitiveness, and the community found in CrossFit boxes. I started going with a friend when I used to live in VA, and I saw my body change in drastic ways. But, more than that, I discovered a method of training that inspires confidence in people, helping them achieve goals in fitness they never thought possible.” Beth joined CrossFit Aspire in June of 2010 after an extended hiatus from CrossFit brought on by moving and having a baby. “When my daughter was four months old, I decided I wanted to get back into shape. I knew CrossFit would keep me motivated and get me strong! It is my desire to live a healthy and active life, and CrossFit gives me the tools to do that.”

Beth loves seeing new people come into the gym and improve their strength with every WOD. It is her instinct to coach people in the gym or in life in general, so getting certified was a natural step! “It is great to work out somewhere where people greet you when you come in the door, know your name, and will ask you where you are if you have missed a few days!” Beth’s favorite workout is “Filthy Fifty,” and her favorite lift is the push press.

Shamus Williams Trainer

Shamus Williams


Shamus is a Level 1 Certified CrossFit trainer and a certified Physical Fitness Instructor for the State of New Jersey. He has competed in long distance running, swimming, springboard diving, powerlifting, bodybuilding, weightlifting, and pole vaulting. Years of interest in physical fitness led him to CrossFit, and he hasn’t looked back since. Shamus particularly appreciates the practical aspect of CrossFit. “You can see the results of increased fitness in your everyday life. Running, carrying things, shoveling snow and other activities that were difficult will become easier.” Chronic aches and pains that he had before joining CrossFit vanished under the program at Aspire. Shamus makes it his primary goal to ensure that all athletes progress to better levels of fitness while remaining injury-free and healthy.

David Luk Trainer

David Luk


David is a USAW level 1 sports performance coach. First found Olympic Weightlifting after finding a gym as a sophomore in Rutgers University. He has then lifted for East Coast Gold and has competed for them nationally since the 2010 American Open with a best finish of 5th in 2011 Nationals. Loves being in the gym and helping other athletes. His goal is to improve everyone’s snatch and clean and jerk technique to achieve their goals.
